In Richmond Hill, where the future Yonge Subway extension ends, a new journey begins. Here, the Yonge Street rapidway will keep you on your journey up the Greater Toronto Area’s most storied corridor. As life along Yonge continues to look up, plans for this area include a wide range of new development initiatives, from great shopping and entertainment to vibrant public spaces.

Crews are busy performing work that will create dedicated bus rapid transit lanes, wider sidewalks and large, beautiful planters. This year, crews will complete all utility and water main installations, and will continue with boulevard and road widening work. Crews will also commence work on the first vivastation platforms on Yonge in Richmond Hill.

Work is also progressing for the rapidway along Yonge Street in Newmarket, from Sawmill Valley Drive/Savage Road to Davis Drive. Why? It’s all part of a rapid transit network that connects the Region’s urban centres, linking to completed rapidways in Newmarket, Markham and Vaughan, and the future Yonge Subway extension.
